Jim was once voted Senior Citizen of the year. James Butler, of Bloomfield, CT entered into eternal rest on. Additionally, Jim loved spending time with his friends while volunteering at the Schroon Lake Senior Citizens Center. While attending Louisiana State University in 1978, Jim experienced health issues which left him disabled for the remainder of his years. Later in life Jim and his wife retired to their log cabin on Schroon Lake. He also worked to form the AKK breed club on the east coast also known as United Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America. As a Member of the Board of Directors of the Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America, he introduced the AKK on the east coast, including Florida. He helped write the breed standards for the AKK. ![]() Jim was a long time breeder of both Siberian Huskies and the rare breed Alaskan Klee Kais (AKK). Jim and Karen had recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 2nd. He passed from this Earth with the comforting presence of his wife by his side. Jim enjoyed working on his computer, traveling, fishing, camping, and dog shows. PEABODY: Jim Butler, 64, beloved husband of Karen (Pavenski) Butler, passed away on Saturday, November 8th, after a courageous battle with cancer. He and his wife Susan owned and operated the Log Cabin Comfort, in Rumney, for many years. Jim worked as a self-employed logger for several years and then worked for ten years in the maintenance department as an electrician and plumber at Plymouth State College, until his early retirement in 1986. He has been a resident of Rumney since the early 1970’s. James grew up in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School, class of 1966.
